The only way to give an accurate quote is; by receiving 12 months of your electricity bills, how many EV cars you may or may not have, if it’s a two story house and if you have a pool, we need to know your total consumption.

As a child, I was always interested in solar. My first experience, like many early experiences with solar, was with a calculator. I remember covering up the little solar cells and watched the numbers fade away. It was amazing how the light in the classroom could power my calculator.
Then the pandemic hit in 2020; of course, like many of us, we lost our jobs. So I created a listing in search of employment. I was contacted by a Solar company in the Los Angeles area for an interview without even thinking solar. Solar ended up calling me.
So I went for the interview. Little did they know I was interviewing them more than they were me. I'm well aware of the solar industry's harmful practices and did not want to align myself with those practices. Of course, lo and behold, after reading between the lines. I realized this was not the company that aligns with the way I do business. I was offered the job but respectfully turned it down.
So I went home and did my homework. I learned how the Solar industry does business. Some companies choose the cookie-cutter approach, and even fewer companies custom tailor a system to each home.
After a deep dive, there is no one size fits all solar system. Each home vastly different. From the roof, azimuth, angles, and space on the roof. Also, a big thing is a roof designed in a way that will get you the most use out of your solar array. The sun rises from the east and sets in the west. The funny thing is the cookie-cutter approach for many solar companies commonly would be to place one solar array on the east side of the roof when the house needs two arrays to achieve a balanced system. Best Solar LA company would create a plan for east and west array in that situation. The house owner will not realize the system will not produce what's needed until too late. Why would a company choose one solar array for a home when two are required? Because it's cheaper in material and labor costs, but in the long run, you will be paying more instead of getting credits from your utility company. So if it seems like a more inexpensive system upfront, it might be a more expensive system in the long run. This is one of many scenarios that could happen. We won't know what is necessary for your roof till we do a free roof survey.

Like our first car purchase or big purchases of our life, there are always things we are likely to miss and learn from. Here is our analysis.
1. Best Solar LA by American Solar Brokers maximize "productive" roof areas to achieve the most power from the least number of panels to save costs. In this way, the customer doesn't pay for extra panels placed in non-productive areas of a roof, such as North facing. In your case, we honestly don't see where an additional ten panels can be placed that would be reasonably productive. Perhaps another 2-3 or maybe even four but indeed NOT 10, which tells us that most of those extra panels will not be producing to their full capacity, and thus you will not be getting what you paid for. Best Solar LA by American Solar Brokers prides itself on accurate numbers in system sizing, system production, and savings. It's way too easy for a company to fudge any of these numbers, and by the time you find out they're not accurate, the sales rep is no longer calling back, and there's not much you can do about it. We see it all the time, unfortunately.
2. The other company is offering you REC 355 watt panels. These particular panels have been out of production for 2-3 years, and no one carries them any longer. Perhaps this company bought many of them years ago and have been storing them in their warehouse since that time. We only sell brand new updated equipment at the best prices. In this case, I am attaching a comparison of the two REC panels so you can see that our REC 370 watt panel is state-of-the-art 120 split cell technology that is more efficient and more productive.
3. The other company is offering you Solaredge inverters. With their proposed system size, you will need TWO string inverters. The Solaredge inverters come in several different sizes (3000, 5000, 6000, 7600, 10000, and 11400), and the installer will have a decision to make whether he under sizes the inverters or oversizes the inverters. Our guess would be the under sizes to save on cost, which means you'll be losing production capability. For a customer to tell the difference between the Enphase microinverter system we proposed and the Solaredge string inverters, we are attaching our FAQ document that explains the difference between the two. One of the most significant differences is that Enphase carries a 25-year warranty vs. a 12-year warranty for Solaredge, which closely matches that device's lifespan. Solaredge is also cheaper.
4. You need to make sure that the other company will be offering you a premium new electrical panel as we would be. And, since you have wood siding around your electrical panel, do they have the expertise to fabricate a suitable good-looking area around it. We recently upgraded an electrical panel that had similar characteristics as yours and can send you photos of before & after if you like.
In summary, Tom, we feel that we have offered you a well-designed and very robust solar system using the latest top-of-the-line premium equipment at a great price right out of the gate. We want you to be aware that several things may not be accurate. We never want to bad-mouth our competition because we believe there is enough business for everyone so long as we all compete honestly and give truthful information to customers and not give our industry a bad reputation.
